ICR and ICC Completes Restoration on the Nation’s First Official Monument

August, 11, 2011

ICR and ICC completed the restoration of the Montgomery Monument located in the east window at St. Paul’s Chapel. The monument, commissioned by the First Continental Congress and made possible by Benjamin Franklin, was designed and carved by the French sculptor, Jean-Jacques Caffiéri. ICR and ICC disassembled the monument in order to properly clean and treat it. The reassembly completed the restoration.
