Guggenheim Museum ICR was hired directly by the museum as the Architectural Conservators for the restoration of the historic building materials that make up the exterior of the Guggenheim Museum. Original materials include:

ICR is also investigating the original spray applied molten finish on the exposed surface of the cast stone cornice of Thannhauser as well as the condition of the cast stone itself. Churning of the Sea of Milk Gallery
Churning of the Sea of Milk Bas Relief (Mid Section) Working with the World Monuments Fund, ICR was hired to identify and prioritize the active threats to this section of the third enclosure at Angkor Wat. ICR carried out a detailed survey using proprietary GIS based software and designed and implemented laboratory and field testing programs that led to the development of conservation training and implementation programs. Based on the results of the above work ICR designed a holistic conservation program for the long-term stabilization of the the historic exposed sandstone and protection of the priceless bas relief. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phnom Bakeng Angkor, Cambodia Working with the World Monuments Fund team at Phnom Bakeng, ICR is in charge of all historic material technical concerns. In the development of the Phase I Master Plan ICR coordinated the technical team and assisted in the prioritization of threats to the site and the development of potential solutions. The initial review identified some emergency stabilization concerns and working with the WMF Siem Reap professional staff and craftsmen, temporary shoring was designed and installed. Mock-ups for deflecting wall reconstruction were carried out with improvements to water drainage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- United Nations Headquarters, New York, New York
Working with R.A. Heintges & Associates, ICR is implementing an initial needs assessment for the conservation of the United Nations campus buildings, which include the General Assembly, Secretariat, Conference Building, Library, and South Annex. The objective of this phase is to identify and document existing masonry conditions, to assign a priority status to each condition, to develop potential solutions, as well as to provide preliminary cost estimates. |
